Lori Sova - Speech Therapist

Lori is an ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist with over 30+ years of experience working with infants through adults with a variety of disorders/disabilities. Lori earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech- Language Pathology from SUNY at Fredonia, summa cum laude. She earned her Master of Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Vanderbilt University. Lori has provided individual and group speech-language services in private practice, clinical/medical and school-based settings.
During her professional career, Lori had had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations and disorders. She has also gained experience working as a speech-language pathologist in a variety of settings including private practice, clinical/medical and school-based settings. Given her strong passion to mentor other speech-language pathologists, she has provided supervision for clinicians during their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), held many supervisory positions (within the medical and school setting) and worked as a Clinical Supervisor at Towson University.
Lori has advanced and specialized training in many areas including motor speech disorders (including Childhood Apraxia of Speech) and social and communication difficulties related to variety of disabilities/disorders including but not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome and Language-Based Learning disabilities. Through a flexible and child-driven service delivery model, Lori's goal is to support, educate, and nurture children and families to improve the child's functional communication skills and their underlying language skills to maximize his/her academic potential. She believes in tailoring treatment specifically to meet the needs of each child, and thrives on seeing progress in her clients.
